Bitcoin Breaks Through Resistance Levels
In recent hours, Bitcoin experienced a fresh upward impulse, easily surpassing the $80,000 and then $81,000 marks—levels not seen since mid-May. This powerful move allowed BTC to outperform many large-cap altcoins, driving a significant increase in its dominance over the global cryptocurrency market.

Just a week ago, the market appeared stagnant, with Bitcoin trading below $65,000 for an extended period, prompting analysts to question the asset’s next move. However, on Wednesday afternoon, a turning point occurred—possibly triggered by the U. S. State Department’s digital asset regulation announcement, the White House crypto summit, or other unknown factors—Bitcoin broke out of consolidation with remarkable strength. Within hours, it reached $70,000, dipped slightly to $68,000, then resumed its climb to $75,000 by Thursday evening.
Bulls Push Price Toward $80,000
On Friday, bulls intensified their efforts, pushing the price toward $80,000—the first time this level had been reached since mid-May. This gain of approximately $15,000 in just a few days set the stage for a technical correction, which occurred over the weekend when the price fell to $75,500. However, at the start of the new trading week, buying pressure returned with vigor, and Bitcoin once again moved above $81,000—marking a 15-week high.
Market Capitalization and Dominance Rise
Although the price has stabilized just below $80,000, hovering near this level, Bitcoin’s market capitalization continued to grow, reaching an impressive $1.6 trillion. This development led to a notable increase in its dominance: according to CoinGecko data, dominance reached 58%, while on CoinMarketCap it surpassed the symbolic 60% threshold, reflecting renewed investor confidence in the leading crypto asset.
Altcoins Show Mixed Performance
In parallel, several altcoins recorded notable performances. Solana (SOL) was the strongest gainer among large-cap assets, rising 7% and trading above $100 for the first time in months. HYPE returned to its historical high of $83, now trading near $82, while ZEC surpassed DOGE in market cap ranking, taking the tenth spot. Other tokens like XMR and RAIN were among the top performers in the group, while MORPHO, AAVE, and LTC recorded the largest declines.
